Who We Are
Sharp Start Academy is an online weekend school for students in Grades 4 - 7, designed to teach real-life skills that go beyond the standard school curriculum. Our live, interactive classes cover essential topics like financial literacy, leadership, communication, decision-making, and more — all taught by a certified teacher with real-world experience.
In a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence and technology, we believe human-centered skills are more important than ever. Our classes empower students to think critically, solve problems creatively, and build the emotional intelligence and confidence that machines can’t replicate.
We believe learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door. That’s why we also offer a children’s bookstore for preschool to Grade 3 students, filled with engaging picture books that introduce the same skills we teach in class — but in a fun, age-appropriate way.

Our Story
I’m Satwinder "Sonny" Sivia, and my journey in education began working with at-risk youth, where I saw firsthand how challenging it can be to create lasting change once habits are deeply formed. This inspired me to shift my focus to younger learners, starting in the before-and-after-school care field and eventually becoming a certified teacher.
After years in the classroom, I saw how academic demands often leave little time for explicit life-skills instruction. That’s why I started Sharp Start Academy — to supplement the school curriculum with practical, engaging lessons that empower kids to make smart choices, develop confidence, and build a strong foundation for life.
Alongside teaching, I am also the author of a growing collection of children’s books designed for preschool to grade 3. These books introduce the same skills we teach in the academy, giving younger learners a fun and accessible way to start building these life skills long before they’re ready for live classes.
Two Ways to Learn
For Grades 4 - 7:
Live, interactive weekend Zoom classes teaching real-world skills schools don’t cover. Each month features a new theme like Financial Literacy, Leadership, or Communication Skills. Led by a certified teacher. $247/month for 8 hours of engaging learning.
For Preschool - Grade 3:
Illustrated picture books that introduce life skills in a fun, age-appropriate way. Each book matches a monthly Academy theme, giving younger learners the perfect head start.
